3 October · 22 buds

Red marks identify 22 germinated seeds: 22% of the starting sample.
4 October · 29 sprouts

29 germinated seeds, marked in red: 29% of the starting sample.
5 October · 36 germinated seeds
36 of 100 seeds had germinated.
We replaced the wet paper after mould appeared.
Nine other seeds remained hard and looked healthy, but were not counted as germinated.
Weather during the test

Nanning airport station (ZGNN), 30 September–5 October 2026. Local time: UTC+8; temperatures converted to °C.
These outdoor station readings are not measurements inside the covered container and may not capture every daily extreme.
Our original 3 October comment reported 27–36°C locally. No separate temperature measurement inside the test container was recorded.
How to interpret the results
An ongoing, practical test of one 100-seed sample — not a replicated laboratory trial.
The Day 5 result is separate from the earlier laboratory figure on the product page.
Sprouting does not guarantee seedling survival. Storage, transport and growing conditions affect results.
About this seed collection
After sporadic flowering in previous years without a useful yield, we observed gregarious flowering in 2026. More than 95% of the collected material was empty; around 3,000 seeds were recovered, including small or dry seeds.
These are observations from this collection, not a statement about every flowering event.

For commercial bamboo seeds, also consider climate suitability, nursery establishment and plantation management. This short test does not predict commercial yield.
More updates to follow
The test is not finished. We will continue monitoring and add new counts and photographs here, then report the final result when observation is complete.
