The Dendrocalamus latiflorus seeds were collected in NE India and Myanmar bordering areas. Due to the complex political situation in this area, we cannot send our experts to do field identification on this flowering plant. We received the seeds under the name of Dendrocalamus latiflorus. But it's definitely a different bamboo from the Dendrocalamus latiflorus from China.
The branching pattern and inflorescence of this bamboo are more similar to the Dendrocalamus giganteus from China, but its seed shape is again different from the giganteus. The pictures and videos here were taken in the flowering forest. It's a giant bamboo perfect for large-scale commercial plantations due to the availability of seeds in large amounts.
